The legacy of Persian-Tajik doctors of the middle ages in the development of public health

Their heritage has an enduring significance in the development of the foundations of public health. Their innovative ideas and practical approaches laid the foundation for modern principles of disease prevention, hygiene and treatment. Through centuries of painstaking work and observation, they developed a system of knowledge that has had a profound impact on medical science and practice.
The Persian-Tajik medical science of the Middle Ages, with its holistic approach to health and deep understanding of the relationship between man and the environment, represents a valuable source of
knowledge for the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In an era when the world is facing unprecedented challenges in health, ecology and social well-being, the legacy of such eminent scholars as Ibn Sina and Abu Bakr аr-Razi can offer innovative solutions and strategies.
