Physico-chemical and biological properties of chitosan and its application in the treatment of chronic dermatoses

Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the physico-chemical and biological properties of the natural biopolymer chitosan,as well as a detailed assessment of its therapeutic potential in the treatment of chronic dermatological diseases. Based on the results of a clinical study, the key mechanisms of chitosan's action are examined in detail: anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, regenerative, antimicrobial, and metabolic. The article includes statistical data processing. The pathogenetic basis of chitosan's efficacy and the prospects for preventive therapy of chronic dermatoses are discussed.
