The article reveals defines the role and place of physical culture and sports as an effective means for intellectual, moral, civic and aesthetic education of a student are determined. The potential of the physical culture and sports environment in increasing the role of youth in social life and unlocking their potential for active life self-determination, self-realization, self-development, competitiveness and achieving individual success is revealed. The potential of the physical culture and sports environment in the forming of civic awareness based on the traditional values of the Belarusian people and patriotism and in the development of responsible behavior and value attitude of youth towards their own health which contributes to a harmonious development of the student’s personality is revealed.
