Article Review Process

  1. The review is confidential and closed.
  2. The review is carried out on the principle of two-sided anonymous ("blind"), peer-review (double blind) review.
  3. The review of manuscripts is carried out by highly qualified specialists (reviewers), whose names are not disclosed.
  4. Reviewers do not have the right to use manuscripts in personal research and transfer them (or parts of them) for review to another person in accordance with the ethical standards and requirements of the journal to reviewers.
  5. The period of review of manuscripts should not exceed 30 calendar days from the date of sending the manuscript to the reviewer.
  6. The review should contain a qualified analysis of the manuscript, objective reasoned assessment of the manuscript:

          - topicality of the topic;

          - scientific novelty;

          - scientific significance;

          - practical value;

          - proper scientific level;

          - literacy, logicality;

          - sequence of presentation of the material;

          - evidence and reasonableness of conclusions;

          - analysis of the sources of literature used;

          - shortcomings that need to be corrected;

          - the material meets or does not meet the requirements recommended for the authors of the journal "Vestnik Polessky State University. Series of Social and Humanities Sciences".

  1. The review should contain a recommendation for the publication of the manuscript, for its revision (addition) or rejection.
  2. The review of the manuscript is filled in the fields of electronic form on the journal website and saved for further use when making a decision on publication by the editorial board of the journal.
  3. The review of the manuscript is written in a free form with obligatory filling in all the items of the form, taking into account the requirements for the journal articles.
  4. After filling in and saving the review, on the personal page of the author a corresponding mark about passing the stage of review appears.
  5. In case of receiving a recommendation for revision or rejection, the text of the review is sent to the author by e-mail, specified by him during registration on the journal site.
  6. If there are comments in the review and the author does not agree with them, the manuscript can be accepted for publication in the journal "Bulletin of Polesie State University. Series of social and humanitarian sciences".
  7. The manuscripts of the articles are rejected:

          - Not of scientific and educational nature;

          - not having topicality and scientific significance;

          - anti-scientific manuscripts, which are difficult or impossible to read due to errors in the text and/or inconsistency of its elements;

          - publication of which may result in violation of current legislation of the Republic of Belarus or copyright and/or related rights;

          - containing statements, judgments or opinions that are not supported by the authors' own research or references to external sources;

          - prepared in violation of the norms of scientific ethics.

  1. In case the manuscript is rejected, the author is sent an e-mail stating the reasons for rejection.
  2. The review is saved by the editorial board and used for placement in databases together with the articles of the authors, as well as submitted to the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus if requested.
