The development trends in meat production and processing in the Republic of Belarus

Abstract

The aim of research is to development of scientific and practical recommendations aimed at improving the competitiveness of the poultry industry.

Materials and methods: The theoretical basis for research served as the works of domestic and foreign authors related to improving the competitiveness of agricultural products and producers. The information base for the research was the normative and legal acts of the Republic of Belarus, the data of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, a systematic approach, abstract-logical, comparative analysis, monographic and computational-constructive methods were applied.

Results.  In the article presents the results of the study of the dynamics of production volumes of meat products on the example of poultry meat. The factors affecting the formation of competitiveness of the poultry industry are considered, scientific and practical recommendations and suggestions are defined.

Conclusions. The qualifying features of environmental and economic factors that determine the competitiveness of poultry products, which contributes to the sustainable development of the industry, have been identified and justified.
